Joy Behar has a new TV show debuting in September on HLN. That’s not the Hell Lifestyle Network. It’s what CNN used to call the Headline News Network. We hasten to remind you that Behar made her living as a comedian before whatever it is she and the women of “The View” do on “The View” weekday mornings. Mostly they prattle and blather and talk over each other. We guess that’s what women like, because they do seem to like them some “View.” Except one hour a day isn’t enough for Behar, who told “New York Magazine” (that’s their picture of Behar enjoying some Joy-time outside) about her new show. And we quote…
So now you have a new show?
“Yes, I have a new show. We’re launching it September 29, that’s the first night. We were going to do it the 28th but that’s the end of Yom Kippur and I need my Jewish viewers to watch me. So, it’s called ‘The Joy Behar Show.’ It’s a talk show. It’s news with fun.”
So how will your show stand out?
“I think I’m a little bit different from other shows. Just me alone, my track record. I’m a stand-up comedian. I have a lot of background, I’ve had a lot of different jobs. Teen tours … I worked in a mental hospital, too, which prepared me to work on ‘The View.’ I worked as an employment counselor, so in case I get fired I can counsel myself. So I’ve had a lot of different kinds of jobs — I think I’m ready for this.”
But are we ready for this?
Here was Joy Behar on CNN interviewing Ann Coulter. And remember, Behar spends most of her days now with Sherri Shepherd, who showed off her swimsuit body and the mind that goes with it.
