Everyone loves a good impression, especially one where Philip Seymour Hoffman and Tom Cruise discuss Facebook. And everyone loves the great impressionists seen on the stand-up circuit, and TV shows like Saturday Night Live and MAD TV over the years. So we thought we’d compile a list of our favorites. Here are The 10 Funniest Impressionists Ever. Now, let the arguments begin.
10. ELON GOLD
This is a clip of Elon Gold’s talk show pilot. His Howard Stern and Jeff Goldblum are our favorites.
9. DEAN EDWARDS
Ever wonder what it would sound like if Denzel Washington asked a girl to the prom? Best Denzel impression ever!
8. WILL FERRELL
You probably don’t think of Will Farrel as an impressionist, but his Harry Caray impression and days on SNL are so great that we had to list him.
7. PABLO FRANCISCO
Pablo Francisco’s impression of Don LaFontaine, the late great movie voice guy is amazing.
6. ARIES SPEARS
This medley of Aries Spears doing LL Cool J, DMX, Snoop and Jay-Z is amazing.
5. RICH LITTLE
Rich Little is a legend. And he has the greatest Ronald Reagan impression of all time.
4. DANA CARVEY
This clip of Dana Carvey on Leno doing Tom Brokaw and John McCain is just a taste. His George H.W. Bush, H. Ross Perot and Johnny Carson are also classics.
3. FRANK CALIENDO
This clip is a highlight reel of awesome impressions, but his John Madden is still the best. Watch for DeNiro as Frankenstein though.
2. DARRELL HAMMOND
Darrell Hammond has been ‘the impressions guy’ on SNL since the mid ’90’s. Most people will have seen his Sean Connery, so we wanted to post his Chris Matthews, which also always cracks us up.
1. PHIL HARTMAN
We know several people that argue that the Frank Sinatra Group sketch on SNL is the best of all time. We dunno if that’s true, but it’s hard to argue against anything featuring Phil Hartman.
